R.J.: Cardinals, Cubs, Brewers, Astros, Reds, Pirates.
Taft: Oh, I thought you were going to pick the Cubbies? Couldn’t do it, could you?

WBC recap: Japan 10, Cuba 6

Filed under: World Baseball Classic — R.J. @ 9:31 am

I saw this via Deadspin.com, our new favorite site. Needless to say, it is pretty shameful that I root for this team, including the jerkface that is A.J. Pierzynski (whoop, sorry, now that they won the WS, he’s a “gamer,” not a jerk.) (more…)

Filed under: Cubs, White Sox — Taft @ 10:27 am

Will Carroll, author of the premier column on baseball injuries, Baseball Prospectus’ Under the Knife, probably stumbled upon our Web site through Deadspin. Ross submitted my entry on Mark Prior’s injury to Deadspin, and they posted a link to it. Anyway, Will Carroll posted a comment saying enjoyed my article. I thought that was pretty darn cool, so I emailed him to thank him and see if he’d answer a few email interview questions for the site. Not only did he answer the questions, but he did it in record time. This is a busy time of the year for baseball writers; I’d like to thank Mr. Carroll for taking some time out of his busy schedule to answer my questions. (more…)
